INSULATED BEARINGS
Title
INSULATED BEARINGS
Insulated bearings, also known as electric motor insulated bearings or ceramic-coated bearings, are specially engineered to prevent electrical current from passing through the bearing, protecting equipment from damage caused by electrical erosion, fluting, and premature wear. These bearings feature an insulating layer—typically ceramic or polymer—applied to the inner or outer ring, creating a robust barrier against stray currents commonly generated in variable frequency drives (VFDs), electric motors, and generators. Insulated bearings ensure longer service life, reduced maintenance costs, and improved reliability in high-performance electrical systems. Their durability, superior insulation properties, and ability to operate in demanding environments make them essential for modern industrial, power generation, and automation applications.
